Dr. Angel C. Alcala, the President of the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA) exemplified in his keynote address during the Opening Program of the 30th AACCUP Annual National Conference, held at the Grand Ballroom of the Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila on February 15-17, 2017, that the greatest challenge among SUCs is to keep improving the quality of education. There are several ways to do this such as: achieving more significant results or outcomes in teaching, research extension and development projects, and involving in other activities such as making innovations, and publications of research findings, networking with well-known foreign and ASEAN universities through CHED, through the assistance of  British Universities thereby improving and enriching the academic programs, and continuously focus on internationalizing all the activities and practices to make them at par with big national and international universities.

These challenges are hoped to ring a bell to the ears of the SUC officials — the SUC Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Quality Assurance experts, who were mostly present during this year’s annual AACCUP conference. These challenges might be difficult to achieve at one glance, but through the continued effort of everyone in any academic institution in the country, little by little, these challenges would soon be realized.
