FOUR UNIVERSITIES AWARDED WITH INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION IN 2017
Within 2017, two universities from Luzon, one university from Visayas and one university from Mindanao earned the Institutional Accreditation distinction awarded by the AACCUP through seasoned accreditors and with Dr. Manuel T. Corpus who served as the Head accreditor for Area 1, Governance and Management in all of the Institutional Accreditation visits.
2017 Nestled 1,380 SUC Programs Granted with Accreditation Status
Over the years, there has been a steady increase in the number of programs assessed by AACCUP. This year, AACCUP has accredited a consolidated total of one thousand three hundred eighty (1,380) programs across one hundred eight (108) Chartered Colleges and Universities.
AACCUP Welcomes a New Family Member: Compostela Valley State College
The newest state college of the South, the Compostela Valley State College (CVSC) of Davao de Oro has joined the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) last March 14, 2017.
AACCUP Takes Part in the HEEACT and APQN Global Summit 2017
The Philippines was ably represented by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) through its President, Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, in the 2017 Global Summit of the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) and the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) on September 21-22, 2017 at 801 Conference Hall, Chang Yung-Fa Foundation, Taipei, Taiwan.
AACCUP Expands its Offices
The increasing number of programs to be accredited coupled with the increasing number of member-SUCs provide an impetus for AACCUP to expand its office. The QA Specialists Room With the newly-finished renovation, the Quality Assurance Specialists moved to the new office (4-LM), located just opposite the existing office at Future Point Plaza III, Panay Avenue, Quezon City. Indeed, the new ambience in this office hopes to provide a new work atmosphere for the QA specialists for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
What’s in Store for Programs with LAPSED Accreditation Status?
The biggest single index of a quality-assured academic program is its accreditation status and the commitment to sustain and upgrade it. As years pass in AACCUP accreditation history, there is generally an uptrend in the number of programs that continuously keep updating and upgrading their levels of accreditation.
Participants Flock at Day 1 of the 30th AACCUP Annual National Conference
As early as 6.30 in the morning, some participants were already flocking in at the registration area of Century Park Hotel during Day 1 of the 30th Annual National Conference. An estimated total of more than 400 participants are expected to arrive during this year’s annual national conference, which includes the presence of the University Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Quality Assurance Officers, and other accreditation enthusiasts.

During the Asia-Pacific Quality Assurance Network (APQN) Conference held at Natadola, Fiji Islands on May 25-27, 2016, the AACCUP Executive Director, Dr. Manuel T. Corpus was elected as a member of the Board of Trustees of the APQN. The APQN Board of Trustees are the following: Prof. Dr. Jianxin Zhang (President), Prof. Angela Hou Yung-chi (Vice-President), Prof. Li Yaogang (Secretary/Treasurer), then the three Board members: Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, Ms. Malini Nair-Prasad, and Prof. Dr. Galina Motova; and finally Dr. Jagannath Patil (Past President as Ex-officio member).
